Massage Type

  1. Thai Massage (Traditional Thai, Warrior, Royal, Thai Yoga, etc., combined with the core techniques of Thai massage, including full body care of energy lines, energy points and stretching movements. Only fingers, palms, forearms, elbows, feet, tibia and knees are used for operation, without relying on any tools, highlighting the essence and purity of traditional techniques. )

  2. Freestyle massage (a form of full-body care that combines tools and body techniques, combining massage skills with creative expression, showing unique style and innovative technology. Combining different types of massage methods, cupping, massage tools, Ayurveda, full-body massage, etc.)

Participants

  1. Category: Each massage therapist may enter one to two categories.

  2. Language Support: Non-Cantonese speaking contestants can have their presentations and communications assisted by staff translation.

  3. Dress code: Personal sponsor attire or national attire that matches the category is acceptable. Sneakers, sports pants or yoga pants, t-shirts, etc. are required. No shoes are allowed for Thai Yoga Massage.

  4. Things to bring: Participants are required to bring their own bed sheets, towels, tools, etc.

  5. Attire for the massage recipient: The massage recipient must always wear underwear, and women must cover their breasts. The areas not being massaged must be covered.

  6. Photography Policy: The use of photographic equipment is prohibited during the competition. Unauthorized photography or video recording may result in expulsion.

  7. Insurance: Participants are required to purchase insurance to cover their own safety and the safety of the massage recipients during the competition.

  8. Code of Conduct: Inappropriate behavior is strictly prohibited and any massage of a sensual or sexual nature will result in immediate disqualification and expulsion from the competition.

  9. Massage Exchange: All participants must both receive and give massages.

  10. Prohibited Techniques: Chiropractic and osteopathic manipulations are prohibited during competition.

  11. Music Arrangement: The music during the competition will be determined by the organizer.

Competition Area

  1. Massage beds and Thai massage mats will be provided at the venue.

  2. Each participant's bed or mat position will be determined by drawing lots.

  3. Each round lasts 30 minutes, including the inspection time. Participants have about 5 minutes to inspect the massage recipient.

  4. Shower facilities are available on site.

Judging criteria

1. Technical performance (20%)

  • Diversity and proficiency of techniques

  • Mastery and flexible use of technology

  • Applicability of technology to customer needs

2. Creativity (20%)

  • Technological innovation and application of new methods

  • Harmonious combination of technologies

  • Unique and artistic expression

3. Quality of treatment (20%)

  • Knowledge and skills based on anatomy and energy lines

  • Provide customers with a comfortable and safe treatment process

4. Movement smoothness (10%)

  • Smooth and continuous movement

  • Seamless transition between technologies

  • Rhythm and overall consistency

5. Physical mechanics (10%)

  • Effective posture, balance, safety and stability

  • Coordinate different parts of the body to adapt to the treatment environment

6. Interaction with customers (10%)

  • Pre-treatment assessment and post-treatment advice

  • Effective communication with customers

  • Showing care and respect for customers

7. Professionalism (10%)

  • Dress appropriately and maintain cleanliness and neatness

  • Cleanliness and orderliness of the treatment environment

  • On-time and efficient assembly and time allocation

  • No jewelry allowed

  • No long nails

Additional Rules

  • Tool usage restrictions:

    • The use of intrusive tools is strictly prohibited

    • No acupuncture, open flames or any electrical equipment is allowed

All decisions of the jury are made collectively to ensure the fairness of the competition.

Finals

  • Duration is 45 minutes.

  • Scoring: Massage recipients (professional and highly qualified masseuses) rate their experience up to 6 points. The chief judges can each rate 3 points for one finalist.

  • Champion: The masseur with the highest score will be awarded the title of Hong Kong Thai Massage Champion 2025.

Competition Highlights

  • The competition emphasizes inspection, technique, ergonomics and overall performance in each category, which is evaluated by expert and experienced judges in that category.

  • Process: refers to the continuous changes in movements and techniques of the masseur.

  • Ergonomics: Assessing how massage therapists use their bodies (work environment) and tools (such as massage tables, etc.).

  • Techniques: The different techniques used within each category, as well as innovative techniques that work well for both the masseur and the client.
